Open Day 29th April 2012
Our hugely popular annual Open Day will be on 29th April 2012. There will be free entry to the museum with activities for children, demonstrations, vintage tractors, model railway exhibition and musical entertainment throughout the day.
KEM Open Day 2012 will follow Trevithick Day which is a one day festival to celebrate the industrial heritage of the Camborne area.
Entry to the museum is free but there will be a charge of £2 per car for parking.

10.30 – 11.15 Porthleven Town BAND
10.45 SULZER ENGINE in operation
11.30 MILL & STAMPS working for a short time
12.00 – 12.45 Porthleven Town BAND
13.00 – 13.30 HEVVA (dancers) perform in the Mill
13.45 – 14.00 Troon School CHOIR
14.00 – 14.40 Ingleheart SINGERS with Troon School Choir
14.45 MILL & STAMPS working for the second time
15.00 HEVVA perform in the Mill
15.15 SULZER ENGINE in operation
At different times during the day, both the Holman Winder and the Holman Crusher will be running. Listen Out for the announcement of when this is going to happen.
Throughout the day, children’s’ activities will be taking place in the Survey Office.
There will be demonstrations of vanning in the Mill.
Vintage tractors, cars and stationary engines, a model railway exhibition, mine models and other relevant exhibits will be on view around the museum site.
The Trevithick replica ‘Puffing Devil’ should be in steam during the day.
